URODINYCHIDAE Berlese, 1917

This family contains about 250 species belonging to four genera. Eight species were collected on Passalidae ; three were found on three host species and five species were found on undetermined Passalidae ( Pearse et al. 1936; Reinert 1973; Delfinado and Baker 1975; WiŚniewski and Hirschmann 1992, 1993b; WiŚniewski et al. 1992; Villegas-Guzmán et al. 2008). Most species were collected from Odontotaenius zodiacus (3) and the largest number of host species was found for Uroobovella californiana WiŚniewski and Hirschmann, 1992 (3) ( Tables 2 , 4 and 9). Species in this family occur on Passalidae by chance, perhaps with the exception of U. californiana .
