This family contains 26 species in six genera. Only two species, Promegistus armstrongi Womersley, 1958 and Echinomegistus narvaezi Hyatt, 1964 , were found on Passalidae ( Womersley 1958b; Hyatt 1964) ( Tables 2 View Table 2 , 4 and 9). Species from this family only occur accidentally on the Passalidae .
