TYPE LOCALITY: Portugal, near Lisbon .
DISTRIBUTION: Iberian Peninsula.
COMMENT: Included in Felis lynx by Corbet, 1978:182, but given specific status by Matyushkin, 1979, Arch. Zool. Mus. Moscow St. Univ., 18:76- 162, and Werdelin, 1981, Ann. Zool. Fenn., 18:37-71. Probably a race of lynx (AHS) .
PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Felidae and U.S. ESA - Endangered as Felis lynx pardina subspecies only.
ISIS NUMBER: 5301412007001021001 as Felis pardina .
