TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.A., California, San Miguel Isl .

DISTRIBUTION: Islands off the Pacific coast of S. California ( U.S.A.).

COMMENT: Placed in genus Canis , subgenus Vulpes which includes Urocyon ; may be a subspecies of cinereoargenteus ; see Van Gelder, 1978:8. Clutton-Brock et al., 1976, 29(3):117-199, retained Vulpes , including Urocyon .
