TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, near city of Mexico .
DISTRIBUTION: S. W. Oregon, N. Nevada, Utah, S. W. Wyoming and W. Colorado, south through California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas ( U.S.A.), to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec ( Mexico); Tiburon Isl. and several other islands in the Gulf of California.
COMMENT: Includes albipes, raptor and saxícola; see Hall, 1981:962-965. Records from E. Colorado, Kansas, Ohio, Louisiana, and South Carolina are probably not indicative of the present range (SK).
