DISTRIBUTION: Tataria, Urals, Siberia, Far East ( U.S. S. R.); Pakistan east to N. Burma; N. Thailand; Taiwan; China; Korea; Japan. Sakhalin ( U.S. S.R.)(introduced).
COMMENT: Includes itatsi; see Corbet, 1978:170. May include lutreolina ; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:260-262, and Lekagul and McNeely, 1977:536, who listed Java in the distribution for this species; but also see comments under lutreolina .
