Status Palearctic migrant. Common passage migrant in New Guinea (Bishop 2006) . Recorded on Biak as follows. 10 November 2017: five (A. Walker, eBird checklist S 46415319); 14 November 2017: six (A. Walker, eBird checklist S 46415753; Fig. 9 View Figure 9 ); 23 August 2019: eight (K. Behrens, eBird checklist S 59190619); 26 September 2019: ten (P. Lansley, eBird checklist S88251028), all at the tsunami swamp.
