**COMMON REDSHANK Tringa totanus View in CoL

Local names Man Awèr, Man Do Marmèr (Sansundi).

Status Rare Palearctic migrant. Just four previous records on New Guinea (Beehler & Pratt 2016) . On Biak on 10 November 2017 a flock of four flew into the tsunami swamp calling (A. Walker, eBird checklist S46415319) and one was seen well there again on 14 November 2017, and the observer speculated that the others were possibly out of view behind fallen trees (A. Walker, eBird checklist S46415753).
