Positive for arginine dihydrolase and urease, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, and β-galactosidase in API 20NE. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not utilized as sole carbon sources.
