Type material examined. Holotype: ♂ ‘ Mts. Ailaoshan, Jingdong , Yunnan, 7–9.VIII.2009, 2450 m, leg. Xu Jishan, Zhang Liuxiang etc.’ ( HBUM).
Additional material examined. 2 ♂, 1 ♀ ‘ CHINA, C-Yunnan, SE of Jingdong , Ailao Shan, ~ 24°09 ʹ N, 101°22 ʹ E, 2600–2900 m, 14 GoogleMaps .–19 GoogleMaps . VI.2014, pitf. tr., leg . Reuter /1026 Sericini Asia spec .’ ( ZFMK).
Description of female. Body length: 6.5 mm, length of elytra: 4.8 mm, width: 3.8 mm. Eyes slightly smaller than in male, ratio of diameter/interocular width: 0.55. Antennal club short, as long as remaining antennomeres combined, composed of three antennomeres. Pygidium weakly convex.
Remarks. During identification of this specimen we realised that figure 5J ( Liu et al. 2014b) of the original description is erroneous since parts of the dorsomedian lamina of the right paramere were mistakenly erased during the figure editing process. Therefore, we reproduce once again the original figure of the holotype of Neoserica (sensu lato) ailaoshanica ( Figure 1 View Figure 1 (a–d)).
