Genus Thoradonta Hancock, 1909 View in CoL
Type species: Thoradonta dentata Hancock, 1909 , by original designation.
Composition. The genus consists of 18 species distributed in India , China, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines ( Hancock, 1909; Eades et al., 2015). One species is found in Thailand.
Notes. The species of the genus Thoradonta are dimorphic in the shape of the pronotum ( Podgornaja, 1994), i.e. brachypronotal and macropronotal morphs are found in the same locality ( Figs 43–46 View FIGURES 43 – 46 ). Unfortunately the length of pronotum is considered as a main taxonomic character for separating the groups of species in the recent Chinese keys ( Liang & Zheng, 1998; Zheng, 2005). As a result the same species may be found twice in these keys under different species names.
