http://lsid.speciesfile.org/urn:lsid: Orthoptera .speciesfile.org:TaxonName:472695 Material examined. Holotype—male, Thailand: Nakhon Ratchasima Province, environs of National park Khao Yai, 500–1000 m, 26 October–4 November 2000, coll. A. Gorochov and L. Anisyutkin ( ZISP). Paratypes: 2 males, same data as in holotype ( ZISP).

Description. Male. Body medium-sized for genus. Antennae spear-shaped, 13-segmented, 2.9–3.0 times as long as the fore femur; apical segments (12–13th) narrow; pre-apical segments (9–11th) widened and compressed, 11th segment 2.3–2.4 times, 10th 2.1 times, 9th 2.7–3.0 times as long as wide; 7–8th segments widened, 4.5-4.7 times as long as wide. Antennal sockets situated between the lower margins of the eyes. Fastigium of the vertex 1.1 times wider than one eye seen from above; medial carina of the fastigium short; tranverse carina complete, in frontal view slightly excised; supraocular lobes absent; fossulae deep. Eyes not protruding above the pronotum in lateral view. Lateral ocelli situated slightly below the middle of the eyes. Frontal ridge broadly rounded in lateral view. Median carina of the frontal ridge 1.5 times as long as the width of the first antennal segment. Width of the frontal ridge near the base of the antennae 0.6–0.7 times the width of the 1st antennal segment. Pronotum in dorsal view with a rounded anterior margin; posterior process of the pronotum reaching the basal third of the hind tibia. Median carina of the pronotum in profile low, in the anterior part slightly elevated, depressed near the shoulders and almost straight in the posterior part. Lateral carinae absent in the prozona. Disc of the pronotum roof-shaped, finely tuberculated, with a pair of long oblique interhumeral carinae. Hind margin of the lateral lobes of the pronotum with tegminal (upper) sinus as deep as the lower sinus; lower side of the lateral lobes of the pronotum in dorsal view rounded, in frontal view directed downwards. Tegmina ovate, with acutely rounded apex; visible part of the tegmen 2.4–2.8 times as long as wide; width of the visible part of the tegmen 0.6–0.7 times width of the mid femur. Hind wing surpassing the apex of the posterior process of the pronotum by 1.0– 1.6 mm. Upper and lower sides of the fore and mid femora straight and weakly serrate. Fore femur 4.4–4.6 times, mid femur 3.1–3.2 times as long as wide. Upper and lower side of the hind femur almost smooth. Hind femur 2.6–2.7 times as long as wide. Upper and lower margin of the hind tibia finely serrated, with 6–7 outer and 5–8 inner teeth. First tarsal segment of the hind leg as long as the 3rd segment (without claws); ventral side of the 1st segment with 3 low almost equal pads; 3rd segment not swollen. Epiproct triangular, with pointed apex. Subgenital plate short, triangular; posterior margin of the plate excised near middle. Cerci conical, with pointed apices, twice as long as wide near the base.

Head dorsally uniform light brown; eyes grayish; ocelli grayish brown; 1st-5th segments of antennae brown, 6- 7th segments blackish brown, 8-11th segments black, 12th segment yellowish with black base, 13th segment yellowish with black apex. Genae and frons brown with indistinct blackish marks; labrum shining black; mandibles grayish brown with yellowish apex; maxillary palpi brown. Disc of pronotum grayish brown; lateral lobes of pronotum brown. Visible part of tegmina brown with blackish spots. Anterior margin of hind wings black. Fore and mid femora brown. Fore and mid tibiae brown. Fore and mid tarsi brown, the apex of 2nd segment black. Hind femur brown; lower part of outer side black. Hind tibia blackish. All tarsal segments of hind leg light brown, the apex of 3rd segment black. Tergites black, epiproct brown. Sternites black. Subgenital plate grayish brown. Cerci blackish brown.

Female unknown.

Measurements (mm). Length of male body 9.3–9.6; antenna 6.5–6.6; pronotum 9.5–9.8; tegmen 1.2–1.3; fore femur 2.2–2.3; mid femur 2.2; hind femur 5.1–5.2.

Distribution. Thailand (Nakhon Ratchasima Province).

Diagnosis. The species is similar to P. mellerborgi by the slightly elevated in anterior part, depressed near shoulders and almost straight in posterior part median carina of pronotum, but differs from the latter by the well developed interhumeral carina (in P. mellerborgi interhumeral carina absent). The new species is also similar to P. insularis , but in the latter species the pre-apical segments of the antennae are distinctly more widened. The new species is similar to P. c a r i n at us by the distinct interhumeral carina, but differs from the latter by the shape of median carina of pronotum (in P. carinatus median carina in profile straight).

Etymology. The new species is named after the famous entomologist Sir Boris Uvarov (1889–1970).
