( Figures 1E View Figure 1 , 3A View Figure 3 , 4C View Figure 4 )
Diagnosis
Promalactis flavicapitata is similar to P. apicispinifera Wang, Kendrick and Sterling, 2009 by sharing five black patches on the forewing, but differs from the latter in the left lateral lobe of the juxta lacking spine at middle and apically exceeding base of the uncus, the right lobe slightly shorter than left one in the male genitalia; the lamella antevaginalis not protruding laterally near middle, and the ductus bursae coiled in the female genitalia. In P. apicispinifera , the left lateral lobe of the juxta has a spine at middle on outside and reaches the middle of the tegumen at apex, and the right lobe is about two-thirds the length of the left lobe; the lamella antevaginalis protrudes laterally near middle and the ductus bursae is not coiled.
Description
Adult ( Figure 1E View Figure 1 ). Wingspan 9.0−10.0 mm. Head yellow, occiput mixed with dark brown scales. Labial palpus with basal and second segments yellow on inner surface, yellow mixed with black scales on outer surface, second segment with distal one-third yellow except black apically on outer surface; third segment black except yellow basally and apically, slightly longer than second. Antenna with scape yellow, pecten yellow basally, dark brown distally; flagellum alternately white and black on dorsal surface, dark brown on ventral surface. Thorax and tegula yellow except dark brown basally. Forewing orange yellow; costal margin with three black patches: basal patch quadrangular, extending obliquely to middle of cell, lined with white scales along outside; middle patch quadrangular, extending obliquely to distal quarter of cell on upper margin, with a white streak along its outer margin extending to lower angle of cell, with black scales on inner edge; subapical patch triangular, extending dorsad to midwing; dorsal margin with a white streak from basal one-fifth to fold, edged with black scales, with a quadrangular black patch at two-fifths extending to lower margin of cell at basal three-fifths, tinged with ochreous yellow scales anteriorly, edged with white streaks; cell with a longitudinal white line from middle to lower angle along lower margin; apex with a white dot; tornus with a triangular black patch; termen sparsely covered with black scales, with a white dot near tornus; cilia orange yellow. Hindwing and cilia grey. Foreleg with tibia and tarsus black, tarsus with three white spots on dorsal surface; midleg with tibia and tarsus yellow on ventral surface, black on dorsal surface, tibia dorsally with tuft of long yellow scales near base and apex, tarsus with four yellow spots on dorsal surface; hindleg yellow on ventral surface, black on dorsal surface, tarsus with three yellow spots on dorsal surface.
Male genitalia ( Figure 3A View Figure 3 ). Uncus broad at base, narrowed to two-thirds, distal third slender, apex acute. Gnathos slightly shorter than uncus, lingulate, distal quarter scobinate; apical margin bluntly rounded, with a slender membranous process protruding from before apex. Tegumen branched from posterior half, rounded anteriorly. Valva broad, with a band-shaped basal bridge extending from base of costa down to ventral two-fifths; apex irregular, rounded dorsoapically, concave inward ventroapically; costa concave basally, about half length of sacculus. Sacculus narrow, extending distally, forming a free distal process; distal process setose, basal half broad, subrectangular, distal half very slender, sinuate, apex acuminate. Saccus short, nearly elliptical, about two-thirds length of uncus. Juxta nearly parallel-sided, with a thin digitate basal process extending to near anterior margin of saccus; lateral lobes slender, asymmetrical; left lobe straight, slightly longer than right lobe, slightly exceeding base of uncus; right lobe curved distally, reaching base of uncus. Aedeagus longer than valva, with a sclerotized triangular process distally; cornutus spine-like, about one-sixth the length of aedeagus.
Female genitalia ( Figure 4C View Figure 4 ). Apophysis anterioris about half length of apophysis posterioris. Lamella postvaginalis nearly quadrate, with sparse setae and dense spinules posteriorly. Lamella antevaginalis large, nearly trapezoidal, posterior margin with two drooping sacks bearing two small spine-like processes at middle. Antrum heavily sclerotized, about one-quarter the length of ductus bursae, with a large curved spine on anterior end near right side. Ductus bursae coiled twice, heavily sclerotized except membranous with some short spines at conjunction with antrum, with two stout spines at about posterior one-eighth; ductus seminalis arising from posterior end of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae small, nearly pear-like, membranous, with dense granules; signum absent.

Etymology
This specific name is derived from Latin flavus, meaning yellow, and Latin capitatus, meaning head, referring to the yellow head of the adult.
