Type material examined. Holotype Ƌ [plastic plate with aedeagus and apical abdominal segment in Canadian balsam was pinned under the plate with beetle; specimen without left apical antennomere]: “ VIETNAM, Lao Cai \ Prov., Sin Chai, Hoáng \ Liên N.P., Tram Ton , \ at light, 1900 m .” [rectangular printed label], “22°20.941ʹN \ 103°46.197ʹE, 16.XII. \ 2008, leg. L. Papp, L. \ Peregovits & L. Ronkay” [rectangular printed label], HOLOTYPE \ Deinopteroloma \ vesiculosa sp. n. \ Shavrin A.V. & Smetana A. des. 2016” [red rectangular printed label] (HMNH).
Description. Measurements: HW: 0.82; HL: 0.55; OL: 0.25; AL: 2.93; PL: 0.85; PW: 1.42; ElL: 2.10; EW: 1.75; AedL: 0.90; TL: 3.60.
Head reddish brown with somewhat paler apical portion of clypeus; middle elevation of pronotum reddish yellow; tarsi, apical parts of antennomeres 2–5, lateral sides and narrow apical margin of pronotum yellow; elytra brown with reddish brown narrow sutural band and latero-apical margins, with series of yellow small spots arranged on tubercles: two irregular medio-apical rows of three spots, three small indistinct spots behind shoulders and three larger spots indistinctly merging into oblique line in about median part of elytra. Dorsal surface of body shiny, without microsculpture except head with indistinct transverse lines on clypeus and vertex. Head with sparse fine punctation, smaller and rugose on posterior portion of infraorbital ridges; disc of pronotum with coarse irregular punctation on middle elevation, distinctly larger than that on head, with impunctate oval portion in middle basal third of pronotum, with denser punctation along posterior pronotal margin and sparser on lateral sides of pronotum; scutellum without punctures; disc of each elytron with five longitudinal rows of serial punctures becoming not serially arranged toward basal and apical parts, lateral sides of each elytron with dense, not serial punctation. Head 1.4 times as wide as long; posterior part of clypeus and vertex distinctly elevated, with lateral impressions in middle part and semicircular deep impression in front of ocelli, infraorbital ridges slightly impressed; eyes large and convex; small acute postocular ridge situated away from posterior margin of eye, distance about one third of length of eye seen from above; ocelli large, situated somewhat anteriad of level of posterior ridges, distance between ocelli distinctly longer of distance between ocellus and posterior margin of eye. Antenna reaching one-third of elytral length when reclined; measurements of antennomeres (length/width): 1: 0.22 × 0.10; 2: 0.12 × 0.05; 3−6: 0.15 × 0.05; 7: 0.13 × 0.06; 8: 0.10 × 0.06; 9−10: 0.10 × 0.07; 11: 0.16 × 0.07.
Pronotum transverse, 1.6 times as wide as long, considerably wider than head; apical margin narrower than posterior margin, distinctly emarginated; strongly protruded anterior angles with small obtuse tooth, lateral margins more narrowed posteriad than apicad, with irregular and moderately coarse crenulation, with acute posteriolateral angles; disc of pronotum with wide middle elevation widened posteriad, with indistinct small longitudinal and medio-lateral impressions, with paired short transverse impressions above wide semicircular impression in basal third of pronotum between two distinctly oblique small protuberances; lateral portions of pronotum explanate and strongly reflexed, each with deep pit at middle.
Elytra wide, slightly longer than wide; surface of each elytron with irregular small tubercles, arranged in two basal longitudinal rows of three tubercles, with small narrow pyramidal tubercle beside shoulder and small tubercle somewhat lower, with indistinct three very small tubercles in latero-basal part, and with four irregular elongated tubercles arranged diagonally from about middle part of elytron towards suture.
Male. Front tibia as in D. sextuberculatum sp.n. Apical margins of abdominal tergite VIII (Fig. 15) and sternite VIII (Fig. 21) widely emarginate. Aedeagus ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 36 – 43 ) with wide phallobase, gradually narrowed toward rounded, moderately wide apex; parameres slightly exceeding apex of median lobe, with wide setiferous surfaces; internal sac ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 36 – 43 ) with two long fields consisting of numerous thorns. Female unknown.
Differential diagnosis. Based on the strongly crenulated lateral margins of the pronotum, on the surface of each elytron with small elongated tubercles and with short subhumeral elevation, D. vesiculosum sp.n. is similar to Chinese D. yinyang sp. n. and Vietnamese D. uncinatum , but it differs by the significantly shorter and and somewhat wider body, by the coloration of elytra with series of yellow small spots (elytra of compared species are bicoloured). Additionally, it differs from D. uncinatum by the completely different shape and internal structure of the aedeagus.
Distribution. The new species is known from Lao Cai Province of North Vietnam ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 65 ).
Bionomics. The specimen was attracted to light at elevation 1900 m a.s.l.
Etymology. The specific epithet is a Latin adjective derived fron the noun vesicula,-ae, f (small vesicle). It refers to the presence of small, vesicula-like tubercles on the elytra.
