16. Epyris jeonbukensis Lim et S. Lee , sp. nov.
( Figs 157–164 View FIGURES 157 – 164 )
Type material. Holotype Ƥ, Korea: Majeong-ri, Buk-myeon, Jeongeub-si, JB, 2–9.VIII.2005, MT, J. Park leg. Paratypes: 1 Ƥ, same locality as the holotype, 9–16.VIII.2005, MT, J. Park leg.; 1 Ƥ, ditto, 30.VIII–6.IX.2005, MT, J. Park leg.
Diagnosis. This species is similar to E. hiten Terayama 2006 by having similar body color; postero-lateral corner rounded; frons and vetex densely microreticulate with shallow punctures; each scutellar pit separated from each other by thin septum; propodeal disc with strong three discal carinae. However, this species has mandible with three teeth; scape 3.0 × as long as wide; OOL 2.0 × WOT; metacarpus absent; whereas E. hiten has mandible with two teeth; scape 3.6 × as long as wide; OOL 1.7 × WOT, and fore wing with short metacarpus.
Description. FEMALE (holotype). Body length 3.9 mm ( Fig. 157 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ); LFW 1.7 mm ( Fig. 159 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ).
Color. Head and mesosoma black; metasoma dark castaneous except posterior margin of terga light castaneous; mandible light castaneous except basal half castaneous; antenna castaneous except scape and pedicel light castaneous; fore wing subhyaline, veins castaneous; legs light castaneous except fore femora castaceous.
Head ( Figs 158, 160, 161 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ). 1.1 × as long as wide. Vertex straight with rounded corners. Temple profile divergent anterad. Frons coriaceous, punctures small and shallow, each puncture separated from each other by 1.0–3.0 × as its maximum diameter ( Fig. 160 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ). Mandible with four apical teeth, upper two teeth small, lower tooth most large and sharpened. Clypeus with rounded median lobe ( Fig. 161 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ). First five antennal segments in ratio of 3.5: 1.0: 1.0: 1.2: 1.1 in length; from scape to flagellomere 3 and 11 3.0, 1.2, 1.0, 1.1, 1.0 and 1.6 × as long as wide respectively ( Fig. 158 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ). Eye 0.28 mm long with erect hairs; HE 1.0 × OOL; WF 3.1 × WOT. Frontal angle of ocellar triangle right, POL 1.1 × AOL, OOL 2.0 × WOT ( Fig. 160 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ).
Mesosoma ( Figs 159, 163, 164 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ). Pronotum coriaceous, unpolished, 0.7 × as long as wide, coriaceous and punctate with small and shallow punctures as head, anterior corners forming round angle. Mesoscutum coriaceous, punctate with small and shallow punctures as head and pronotum. Notauli divergent anterad. Parapsidal furrows divergent anterad. Scutellar disc polished, punctate with few shallow punctures, scutellar pit sub-rectangular, 1.5 × as long as wide, apart from other by narrow septum ( Figs 163 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ). Propodeal disc polished, 0.8 × as long as wide with lateral margin divergent distally, five discal carinae present, median and submedian carinae reaching posterior carina, median area rugulose coarsely, sublateral area strigate, propodeal declivity coriaceous with median longitudinal carina ( Fig. 164 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ), lateral surface substrigate. Fore wing without metacarpus; transverse-median vein slightly arched ( Fig. 159 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ).
Metasoma ( Fig. 162 View FIGURES 157 – 164 ). Petiolate. Terga 1–2 smooth without distinct punctures, remain terga smooth with distal margin coriaceous.
