Distribution: United States: FL. ( Mexico, Central America, West Indies, n. South America)

Comments: In early works, this species was confused with Mormidea pictiventris . Rolston (1978a) clarified their status, and he indicated that nearly all records of Mormidea pictiventris from Florida and the West Indies should be referred to this species.
