Comments: In early works, this species was considered to consist of two varieties or subspecies ( Brochymena barberi barberi and Brochymena barberi diluta Ruckes, 1939b ), but Larivière (1994) treated both as valid species. This species was listed in Froeschner (1988) in the genus Brochymena .
