Comments: Froeschner (1988) listed this species in the genus Apateticus . Phillips (1983), in her unpublished thesis, among other records, listed localities that confirm the records from Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Tennessee; she also provided records from New Mexico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, and West Virginia, which would be new state records.
