Stenopsylla curta ( Mathur, 1975) View in CoL , stat. and comb. nov.
Distribution. India: Meghalaya ( Lahiri & Biswas 1979, as Trioza gigantea curta ), Tamil Nadu ( Raman & Kandasamy 1978, as Trioza sp.; Kandasamy 1980, 1986, as Trioza gigantea curta ), West Bengal ( Mathur 1975, as Trioza gigantea curta ).
Host plant. Symplocos cochinchinensis var. laurina (Symplocaceae) . According to Lahiri & Biswas (1979) on Schima wallichii (Theaceae) which is an unlikely host.
Comments. T. gigantea ssp. curta differs considerably from the nominal species suggesting they are two distinct species. The following nomenclatorial changes are proposed here: Stenopsylla curta ( Mathur, 1975) , stat. and comb. nov. from Trioza . The record of Trioza gigantea curta from Meghalaya on Schima wallichii by Lahiri & Biswas (1979) is possibly a misidentification.
