Distribution: Argentina.

During the study of the Trachyderine type material of the MNHN we found two specimens of Uragus hamaticollis Guérin-Méneville, 1844 , with no holotype selected. In order to promote nomenclatural stability, a lectotype and paralectotype are designated for the name Neotaphos hamaticollis ( Guérin-Méneville, 1844) .

Type material: Lectotype 1 female ( Figures 1, 2) (present designation): “ Hamaticollis / Guer. Ic. Type. / Patagon a ”, “ Uragus / hamaticollis / (type) Guer. / Icon. R. a. / Patagonia”, “Ex. Musaeo / Minisech” “ Type ”, “Museum Paris/Coll. J. Thomson/1952” and “ LECTOTYPE Neotaphos hamaticollis (Guérin-Méneville) des. M. L. Monné 2010 ” ( MNHN).

Paralectotype: 1 female: “ Uragus / hamaticollis Guer. / Icon. R. a. / (type) / Patagonia”, “Ex. Musaeo/ Minisech” “ Type ”, “Museum Paris/Coll. J. Thomson/1952” and “ PARALECTOTYPE Neotaphos hamaticollis (Guérin-Méneville) des. M. L. Monné 2010 ” ( MNHN).
