Diagnosis. Differs from the other congeners, except H. filicis , H. inflata and H. gruberi sp. nov., by the presence of bilobed posterior lamella on angiocoxites. From H. filicis , it differs by 1) anterodistal margin of mesal process: small-toothed in H. faucium vs. large-toothed in H. filicis and 2) posterior lamellae: superposed, upper one smaller and bent down into an extension in H. faucium vs. lamellae almost parallel to each other, almost of the same size and simply rounded in H. filicis . From H. inflata , it differs by the shape of 1) mesal process: saw-like in H. faucium vs. hand-like with several distal teeth in H. inflata , 2) posterior lamellae: upper lamella bent down into an extension in H. faucium vs. upper one simply rounded, 3) posterior lateral process: strongly curved posteriad in H. faucium vs. straight in H. inflata . From H. gruberi sp. nov., it differs by the presence of an upper posterior lamella bent down into an extension (vs. rounded upper posterior lamella in H. gruberi sp. nov.), or by the presence of denticulated mesal process (vs. simple mesal process without denticles in H. gruberi sp. nov.).

Etymology. Verhoeff (1931a) named this species in relation to the habitat where it was found, a pit (faux =abyss, chasm). The Latin term faucium is genitive plural and should remain as such although Haasea is feminine gender.

Type material examined: Lectotype: ♂ slide preparation ( ZSM-A 20032155) includes anterior and posterior gonopods, head, antennae, leg-pairs 10 and 11, leg-pair?7, Golobeja jama b. Idria, Orobainosoma faucium Verh. , here designated.

Other material examined: SLOVENIA: 1 ♂, 1 ♀, Orobainosoma faucium Verh. , det. Strasser, Tarnowaner Wald (= Trnovski Gozd), Görz leg. ( NHMW9499 View Materials ) .

Distribution ( Figs 38 View FIGURE 38 , 41 View FIGURE 41 ). Slovenia: Golobeja jama Pit, Črni Vrh, Idrija ( Verhoeff 1931a; Strasser 1966), Bošnarjev brezen Pit, Dol-Otlica ( Strasser 1966), Veliki Bukovec, Nanos ( Strasser 1966), Trevnov golobinec Pit, Kovačev rovt, Idrija ( Strasser 1966). Trnovski Gozd ( Attems 1949).

Type locality. Golobeja jama Pit, Slovenia .

Comments. Attems (1949: 130) recorded this species from Julian Alps but this was not mentioned by Strasser (1966). Since we found no trace of that Haasea material in NHMW, this locality/area is not considered as part of the species distribution range.
