3. Mimesa filippovi ( Gussakovskij), 1937 View in CoL
Description of Unknown Female. Body length 9.0 mm. Black, with the following reddish brown or fulvous: mandible medially and apically, antenna beneath, tarsi, tibial spurs, fore tibiae, mid and hind tibiae largely, tegula, wing veins, gastral tergum I medially and posteriorly, tergum II, terga III to V posteriorly, and pygidial area apically. Setae on clypeus silvery, dense; pubescence on frons, thorax, leg and petiole dense, silvery.
Clypeus with dense, coarse punctures that are one diameter apart or slightly more; free margin with sinuate prominences medially; near free margin with transverse elongated oval tubercle medially, tubercle densely, coarsely punctate, equal to or slightly shorter than half length of clypeal apical prominences; basal half of clypeal disk conspicuously elevated. Mandible inconspicuously bidentate at apex. Interantennal tubercle conspicuous. Antennal segments III–XII gradually thicker and shorter toward apex; segment III about 2.6 ×, segment IV about 2.2 ×, segment XI about 0.8 × as long as wide apically, respectively. Upper frons, ocellar area and vertex medially with dense, small to mid-size, contiguous punctures, ocellar area and vertex laterally with coarser and sparser punctures than those on frons; ocellar area slightly elevated; vertex with transverse elevation medially. HW: HLD: HLF = 90: 35: 73; POD: OOD: OCD = 12: 15: 15.
Anterior portion of mesoscutum with fine, dense punctures that are 1.5 × diameters apart, middle and posterior portions of mesoscutum with coarse, sparse punctures that are 2–3 × diameters apart. Scutellum with sparse micro-punctures. Metanotum with dense, slender, irregular rugae. Mesopleuron shiny, with dense, fine punctures that are1.5 × diameters apart, lower portion with slender, sparse, long, longitudinally oblique ridges posteriorly; upper mesopleuron with dense, fine punctures, and slender, longitudinal rugae, punctures contiguous. Propodeal enclosure delimited by triangular, sturdy carina, with deep depression and sturdy, longitudinal rugae; posterior surface with dense, sturdy, longitudinal rugae laterally, remainder with sturdy, irregular, reticulate rugae; lateral surface of propodeum shiny, without punctures or ridges. Both first and second recurrent veins of forewing ending in second submarginal cell. Legs normal, hind tibia with one or two rows of yellowish spines on outer surface, spines short, blunt basally, slightly longer and more acute apically.
Petiole sturdy, its dorsal surface strongly convex, with longitudinal mid-groove posteriorly, slightly widened toward apex; petiole with one longitudinal carina on each side laterally; ventral surface of petiole flat, without keel. PL: PW: LTI: WTI: HFL: HTL = 38: 11: 48: 45: 51: 57. Hind trochanter not reaching end of petiole. Gastral segments shiny, impunctate; pygidial area broadly triangular, apex round, with dense, fine punctures, and slender, short, longitudinal rugae and setae.
