Carpophilus senilis Sharp 1889: 302
Two specimens, one male and one female, are glued to a single card mount with corresponding data matching the original description and a small label reading “Type” that was added by the NHM. The author mentioned “many” specimens were seen but these specimens match the first locality given and match the description itself. We here designate the male specimen as the lectotype and female specimen as the paralectotype. Labels for the designated specimens read: “ Jalapa /Vera Cruz./Hoge.” “B.C.A. Col. II. 1. / Carpophilus View in CoL /senilis,/Sharp.” “Type”. A red label is added to the male specimen with the following text: “ LECTOTYPE / Carpophilus senilis Sharp /Desig. By/Powell and Martin 2019”. A label is added to the female specimen with the following text: “ PARALECTOTYPE / Carpophilus senilis Sharp /Desig. By/Powell and Martin 2019”.
