Description. Holotype. Female. Body length 2.8 mm, fore wing length 3.2 mm.

Head. Transverse in dorsal view, nearly 2.0× as wide as long, nearly 1.1× wider than mesoscutum. Vertex between eye and posterior ocellus highly shiny, smooth, and impunctate. Temple slightly shiny, rough, and nearly impunctate, slightly constricted. Face 0.8× as high as wide, shiny, smooth, nearly impunctate, sparsely pubescent, inner margin of subparallel-sided. Ocelli large, posterior tangent to anterior ocellus virtually touching posterior ocelli, distance between fore and hind ocellus slightly shorter than diameter of hind ocellus, POL:OD:OOL=5.5:2.5:4.0. Antenna slightly longer than body length, relatively thick, not shrunken apically, closely articulated, penultimate flagellomere one-and-one-third times longer than wide.

Mesosoma. Length:width:height = 55.0:32.0:37.0. Disc of mesonotum shiny with fine punctures, tend to be slightly coarser and confluent at the end of notaulic courses (but without longitudinal striations), punctation along the middle line, especially posteriorly, tending to fade out, interspaces larger than diameter of puncture. Scutellar sulcus slightly curved, narrow with dense carinae inside. Scutellum highly shiny and polished, median length indistinctly shorter than basal width. Lateral polished field of scutellum very narrow, hardly reaching 1/3 rd of scutellum. Propodeum strongly punctate-rugose anterio-laterally, elsewhere shiny and smooth, areolation well defined with V-shaped apex and closed basally, costulae poorly defined. Mesopleuron highly shiny, anterior part with strong, fine punctures.

Legs. Hind femur thin, 3.2× longer than wide. Hind coxa highly shiny and smooth above (basally). Spines on outer side of third tibia relatively sparse. Inner spurs of hind tibia nearly half length of hind basitarsus, outer spur 1/3. Basitarsus of hind leg as long as tarsomeres 2–4 combined, claws of normal size.

Wings. Pterostigma 3.2× as long as its widest part. Vein 1-R1 1.1× longer than pterostigma, 3.7× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell. Vein r arising from middle of pterostigma, nearly perpendicular to the latter, indistinctly shorter than width of pterostigma, r about as long as 2-SR, indistinctly angled at junction, 2-M 2/5 length of 2-SR and indistinctly shorter than 1-SR, cu-a about as long as r, 2-SR+M slightly shorter than 2-SR. First discal cell of fore wing nearly 1.3× wider than high. Second submarginal cell of hind wing 1.8× wider than high. Vein cu-a weakly curved. Hind wing not broad, length of 1-M slightly shorter than distance between its distal extremity and apex of vannal lobe, and vannal lobe beyond its widest straight and without setae.

Metasoma. Almost as long as mesosoma. T1 narrow, somewhat wedge-shaped, very long, 2.8× longer than hind width, concave at basal third, turned-over part distinctly longer than wide, slightly shiny and punctate-rugose, longitudinal trough not deep with some transverse short carinae, apical tubercle shiny and polished. T2 shiny and smooth, weakly transverse, 3.7× wider than long in the middle, almost straight apically. T3 2.3× longer than T2. Tergites posterior to T2 shiny, smooth and pubescent. Hypopygium much longer than apex of metasoma. Ovipositor sheath nearly as long as length of hind tibia. Ovipositor relatively thick, curved with a distinct apical attenuation.

Colour. Black. Tegula black. Palpi yellowish and spurs pale yellowish. Antenna and ovipositor sheath dark brown. Labrum and mandible dark reddish brown. Legs dark brown to black, except basal half of fore femur, fore tibia with tarsus, apex of middle femur, middle tibia with tarsus, basal third of hind tibia with most part of hind tarsus yellow to yellowish brown. Wing membrane hyaline to somewhat brownish, C+SC+R, 1-R1, pterostigma, r, 2-SR and 2-M brown, the rest more or less brownish.

Variation. Body length 2.6–3.0 mm, fore wing length 3.0– 3.2 mm.

Male. Body length 2.4–2.7 mm, fore wing length 2.6–2.9 mm. Similar to female, except: T1 shinier and smooth, longitudinal trough indistinct; T2 subtriangular; and antenna much longer, penultimate flagellomere 2.0× longer than wide.

Distribution. China (Henan, Hunan, Taiwan, Yunnan, Zhejiang).

Etymology. The specific name “ tenuis ” derives from the Latin, referring to very narrow lateral polished field of scutellum.

Remarks. This species is similar to A. pachycarinatus Song & Chen , but differs in the following: pterostigma much smaller, 3.2× as long as its widest part (much larger in latter); second submarginal cell of hind wing much wider, 1.8× wider than high (distinctly narrower in latter); and mesopleuron not rugulose above posteriorly (with rugosity in latter).
