Zelandothorax novaezealandiae ( Salmon, 1944) Delamare Deboutteville & Massoud, 1963

Diagnosis. Based on Bonet (1947), Delamare Deboutteville & Massoud (1963), and Salmon (1944, 1946). Goldenorange. At least one of the sensory field with 9–10 guard chaetae and with a flam-shaped inner chaeta. Trunk without s-chaetae s3. Mucro serrated. Tenaculum with 4 + 4 teeth.

Discussion. Bonet (1947) mistook the original description of the neosminthuroid chaetae of Zelandothorax ( Salmon 1944) with the description of the manubrium/dens articulation. The description of Salmon (1944) indicates clearly that the neosminthuroid chaetae of Z. novaezealandiae are similar to those of Megalothorax . The main diagnostic character of the genus is the peculiar chaetotaxic pattern of labrum described by Delamare Deboutteville & Massoud (1963). The same authors indicate that the lamellae of the maxilla are very neat. Salmon (1946) indicates that some of the sensory fields are guarded by 9–10 chaetae. Bonet (1947) indicates the absence of the dorsal s-chaetae of the abdomen (s3).
