Distribution: India (Jammu & Kashmir); Australia; China; Taiwan; Europe; Japan; Korea; North America;
South America ( Byun et al. 1998, Razowski 2003, Horak 2006).
Hosts: This species feeds primarily on the fruit of trees in Rosaceae : Cydonia oblonga, Crateagus spp., Malus spp., Prunus spp., and Pyrus spp., but it also has been reported from Diospyros kaki (Ebenaceae) , Hexachlamys edulis (Myrtaceae) , Psidium guajava (Myrtaceae) , and others ( Busck 1916; Heinrich 1926; Allen 1958; Bradley et al. 1979; Atanov & Gummel 1985; Bouzouane et al. 1987; Salles & Marini 1989; Haeussler 1940; Park 1983; Byun et al. 1998).
