Tricholygus Poppius, 1910b: 47 –48 (as new genus) [type-species by original designation: Tricholygus hirsutus Poppius, 1910 ]. Tricholygus: Poppius 1912: 114 –115 (redescription). Creontiades: Carvalho 1952:87 View in CoL (new synonymy), 1959: 74 (catalog); Schuh 1995: 743 (catalog), 2002–2013 (online catalog).

Diagnosis. Body 7–9.5 long, elongate, laterally straight, stramineous, yellow or yellow brown, with red brown stripes. Sulcus of vertex narrow and shallow. Vertex non-carinate. Labium reaching posterior coxae. First antennal segment slightly club-like, elongate and straight. Second antennal segment slightly club-like, with long, erect setae. Pronotum distinctly pilose, particularly on margin and collar. Pronotal disc shallowly but relatively widely punctate, rugulose. Scutellum flat, mesoscutum covered. Hemelytra slightly reflective, rugulose, their punctures shallow but relatively wide, pilosity simple, recumbent. Veins raised. Tibial spines and genitalia unknown.

Distribution. Tanzania (Kilimanjaro).
