Megacoelum relatum Distant, 1904a: 428 View in CoL (as new species); Carvalho 1959: 162 (catalog); Schuh 1995: 835 (catalog), 2002– 2013 (online catalog).

Material examined. Type specimens: lectotype Ƌ (present designation): SRI LANKA (as “ Ceylan ”): Kandy, vii (or i, difficult to read).1902, Green leg., type number BMNH E 1653729 (NHM) [the specimen bears additional modern labels with the mention “ syntype ”, several data about sex and identification and three old labels with the following mentions: “ type ”, “ relatum Dist. ” and “Distant coll. 1911-383”; the collector is given according to Distant (1904: 428) but not cited on the available labels]. Paralectotype of both sexes (present determination): 1Ƌ: SRI LANKA (as “ Ceylan ”): Kandy, vi.1902, type number BMNH E 1653730 (NHM) [the specimen bears additional modern labels with the mention “ syntype ”, several data about sex and identification and an old label with the mention: “Distant coll. 1911- 383”]; 1♀: SRI LANKA (as “ Ceylan ”): Kandy, ii.1902, type number BMNH E 1653731 (NHM) [the specimen bears additional modern labels with the mention “ syntype ”, data about sex and identification and an old label with the number “2280”].

Additional material. 1Ƌ and 1♀: INDIA: KARNATAKA: Chikkaballapura, T. V. Campbell leg. (NHM) [Collect date lacking, accession label with the following information: “Brit. Mus. 1926-171”].

Diagnosis. Body chocolate brown to red brown; head chocolate brown with small red brown spots, eyes dark brown to black, posterior margin contiguous with pronotal collar; first antennal segment brown, apically red, clublike and curved, second segment yellow, last segments dark; apical collar of pronotum brown, pronotal disk light brown basally, medially and apically dark red brown, posterior margin yellowish brown; mesoscutum covered; scutellum brown, except sub-apex red brown and apex yellow; legs yellowish brown to red, base of femora yellow, apex dark brown, tibial spines yellow; hemelytra brown, with darker areas, lateral margin of corium sometimes broadly infuscate, cuneus brown mottled with red-brown, membrane brown, veins red.

Discussion. In its external anatomy, the type of A. relata conforms to our diagnosis of the genus Adelphocorisella . We therefore suggest the new combination.
