vitense . Cerithium . Handmann, 1883a see Pustulosia submitralis ( Eichwald, 1851)
* Cerithium Vitense View in CoL n. f.— Handmann 1883a: 172.
Type material. The syntypes of Handmann (1883a) were stored in the Kollegium Kalksburg in Vienna, a Catholic private school, but seem to be lost .
Type locality. Berndorf (St. Veit an der Triesting) ( Austria) .
Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Badenian.
Discussion. Handmann (1883a) described this species as intermediate between Cerithium nodosoplicatum [= Theodisca biseriata ( Friedberg, 1914) ] and Cerithium varicosum Handmann 1883a [= Tiaracerithium pictum (de Basterot, 1825) ]. As he mentioned three to five spiral cords, he might have had specimens of Pustulosia submitralis at hand. Similarly, Mariani & Papp (1966) identified specimens of Pustulosia submitralis as Cerithium vitense .
Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Vienna Basin: Berndorf ( St. Veit an der Triesting ) ( Handmann 1883a) .
