tristriata. Potamides View in CoL View at ENA . Friedberg, 1914
see Tiaracerithium pictum (de Basterot, 1825)
* P [otamides]. mitralis Eichw. var. ascalarata Fr. forma tristriata — Friedberg 1914: 276, text-fig. 59.
Cerithium mitrale var. tristriata Friedb. — Simionescu & Barbu 1940: 87, pl. 1, fig. 40.
Type material. We are not aware of the whereabouts of the type specimens.
Type locality. Glibiv ( Ukraine) .
Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Sarmatian (Volhynian).
Discussion. A morph of Tiaracerithium pictum with three smooth spiral cords below the adsutural row of beads. Potamides tristriatum is a potential secondary homonym of Cerithium tristriatum Lamarck, 1839 (e.g., Vogl 1912: 101). As we consider this taxon as junior synonym of Tiaracerithium pictum (de Basterot, 1825) , no replacement name is needed.
Central Paratethys. Sarmatian, Volhynian (Middle Miocene): Polish-Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin: Glibiv (Ternopil Region, Ukraine) ( Friedberg 1914); Moldavian Platform: Valea-Cordăneşti ( Romania) ( Simionescu & Barbu 1940).
