Type material. We are not aware of the whereabouts of the type specimens.
Type locality. No locality indicated by Eichwald (1851). From the context, the material derives from a locality in the Polish-Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin, such as Zalistsi and Zhukivtsi.
Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Sarmatian (Volhynian).
Discussion. A typical morph of Tiaracerithium pictum ; the name was not used again in later monographs by Eichwald (1852, 1853).
Central Paratethys. Sarmatian, Volhynian (Middle Miocene): Polish-Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin: no locality indicated by Eichwald (1851).
