Type material. Holotype illustrated in Andrussow (1902, pl. 1, fig. 10). Stored probably in the TSNIGR Museum Saint-Petersburg but not listed by Malchevskaya (1985).
Type locality. Kizilyurt ( Russia) .
Stratigraphy. Late Pliocene/Pleistocene, Akchagylian.
Discussion. A morphotype of Potamides caspius with reduced axial sculpture and slightly more prominent adapical spiral cord.
Eastern Paratethys. Akchagylian (Late Pliocene/Pleistocene): Caspian Basin: Kizilyurt (Davidaschvili 1932; Kolesnikov 1950); Kamyshchai River (Daghestan, Russia) ( Goloubiatnikow 1902).
