Type material. Lectotype designated herein, SL: 24.5 mm, MD: 8.1 mm. Earth Science Museum at Moscow State University (The Museum of Natural History). No holotype was designated by Ali-Zade (1940) and although Ali-Zade (1969: 145) mentioned a lectotype, het did not define a specimen.
Type locality. Taribani Steppe area ( Georgia) .
Stratigraphy. Late Pliocene/Pleistocene, Akchagylian.
Discussion. A slender variant of the eldaricus morph of Potamides caspius , with subcylindrical teleoconch whorls, weakly incised suture, and prominent spiral cords.
Eastern Paratethys. Akchagylian (Late Pliocene/Pleistocene): Caspian Basin: Taribani Steppe area ( Georgia), Kudbarekdag Mountain Ridge, Naftalan, Palantekyan Mountain Ridge, Qaladərəsi Mountain Ridge, ( Azerbaijan) ( Ali-Zade 1954, 1969).
