Potamides rigidus? Sow. — Pusch 1836: 529 [non J. Sowerby, 1823].
Discussion. Potamides rigidus was described by J. Sowerby (1823: 48) from the Eocene of England and is a pachychilid, placed in Faunus Montfort, 1810 by Sälgeback & Savazzi (2006). Pusch (1836) described this species erroneously from Miocene freshwater limestones. Therefore, he most probably had the pachychilid Tinnyea lauraea ( Matheron, 1843) at hand, which is widespread in the Miocene of the Paratethys.
Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Carpathian Foredeep: Międzygórze ( Poland) ( Pusch 1836).
