see Lampanella maeotica ( Karlov, 1932) View in CoL
* [ Cerithium (Pithocerithium) maeoticum nov. sp.] var. punctata nov. var. — Karlov 1932: 72, 80, pl. 1, fig. 20 [non Bruguière, 1792].
Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Karlov (1932: pl. 1, fig. 20), size not given, SL about 15 mm; National Mining University , Dnipropetrovsk ( Ukraine).
Type locality. Kerch peninsula.
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.
Discussion. Cerithium punctatum is preoccupied by Bruguière, 1792.As we consider Cerithium (Pithocerithium) maeoticum punctata Karlov, 1932 as subjective junior synonym of Lampanella maeotica , no replacement name is needed.
Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Crimea: Kerch peninsula.
