pyramidale . Cerithium . Ondrejíčková & Seneš, 1965 [non J. Sowerby, 1818]
= Bayania danubica ( Ondrejíčková & Seneš, 1965) (= Pseudomelaniidae View in CoL )
* Cerithium danubicum pyramidale nov. ssp. — Ondrejíčková & Seneš 1965: 173, pl. 3, figs 25–26.
Type material. Holotype: AP 1314, SL: 9.3 mm, MD: 4.4 mm, originally stored at the Geological Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (Bratislava, Slovakia) but later moved to the Slovak Natural History Museum in Bratislava
Type locality. Štúrovo ( Slovakia) .
Stratigraphy. Late Oligocene/Early Miocene: Egerian.
Discussion. The name Cerithium pyramidale is preoccupied by J. Sowerby (1818: 61) (spelling in J. Sowerby 1818: Cerithium pyramidalis ). As we consider this taxon to be a subjective synonym of Bayania danubica ( Ondrejíčková & Seneš, 1965) , no replacement name is needed.
Central Paratethys. Egerian (late Oligocene/Early Miocene): South Slovakian Basin: Štúrovo ( Slovakia) ( Ondrejíčková & Seneš 1965).
