plicata . Cerithium (Potamides) . Karlov, 1932 [non Bruguière, 1792]
see Potamides taitboutii (d’Orbigny, 1844)
* Cer [ithium]. (Potamides) disjunctoides Sinz. var. plicata nov. var. — Karlov 1932: 77, pl. 1, fig. 41.
Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Karlov (1932: pl. 1, fig. 41), the largest specimen: SL: 25 mm, MD: 11 mm; National Mining University , Dnipro ( Ukraine).
Type locality. Kerch peninsula.
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.
Discussion. Karlov (1932) introduced this name for specimens of Potamides taitboutii with prominent, slightly pointed nodes. The name is preoccupied by Cerithium plicatum Bruguière, 1792 . As we consider Potamides disjunctoides plicatum to be a subjective junior synonym of Potamides taitboutii , no replacement name is needed.
Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Crimea: Kerch (Adzhi-Mushkai, Enikale, Staryi
Karantin).
