* Terebralia praebidentata View in CoL nov. sp. —Seneš in Steininger et al. 1971: 380, pl. 6, figs 1–2.
Type material. Holotype: Inv. No. P-3408, Geological Institute Dionyz Stur ( Bratislava , Slovakia).
Type locality. Veľká Čausa ( Slovakia) .
Stratigraphy. Early Miocene, Eggenburgian.
Discussion. This species was distinguished from Terebralia bidentata [= Terebralia lignitarum ( Eichwald, 1830) ] by Seneš in Steininger et al. (1973) based on its smaller size and more delicate sculpture. In our opinion, it represents a dwarf specimen of T. lignitarum .
The name is a secondary homonym of Terebralia praebidentata ( Oppenheim, 1901) from the Eocene of Dubrawitza in Dalmatia (described as Clava praebidentata Oppenheim, 1901: 262 , fig. 18.). No replacement name is needed, because we consider it to be a subjective junior synonym of Terebralia lignitarum .
Central Paratethys. Eggenburgian (Early Miocene): Western Carpathians: Veľká Čausa ( Slovakia) (Seneš in Steininger et al. 1973).
