Type material. Holotype, 1860/0050/0266, SL: 50.9 mm, MD: 24.2 mm, Natural History Museum Vienna ( Austria), Nonndorf ( Austria), illustrated in Ĥrnes (1855: pl. 42, figs 9a–b). Note that the figure in Ĥrnes (1855) is a composite.
Type locality. Nonndorf at Gars ( Austria) .
Stratigraphy. Early Miocene, Eggenburgian.
Discussion. The specimens from Nonndorf ( Austria) do not differ from the holotype of Mesohalina margaritacea ( Brocchi, 1814) .
Central Paratethys. Eggenburgian (Early Miocene): North Alpine-Carpathian Foreland Basin: Gauderndorf, Ķhnring, Maria Dreieichen, M̂rtersdorf, Mold, Nonndorf ( Austria) ( Steininger et al. 1973); Central Slovakia: Veľká Čausa ( Slovakia) ( Steininger et al. 1973).
