Type material. A.A. Ali-Zade (1967) mentioned a holotype but is unclear, which of the illustrated specimens is the holotype; illustrated specimen: 11.5 mm, MD: 4.7 mm. Earth Science Museum at Moscow State University ( The Museum of Natural History ) .

Type locality. Qazanbulaq ( Azerbaijan) .

Stratigraphy. Late Pliocene/Pleistocene, Akchagylian.

Discussion. Based on small, slender, strongly abraded shells of Potamides caspius .

Eastern Paratethys. Akchagylian (Late Pliocene/Pleistocene): Caspian Basin: Qazanbulaq ( Azerbaijan) ( Ali-Zade 1969).
