lineata. Cerithium (Pithocerithium) . Karlov, 1932 [non Lamarck, 1822]
see Lampanella maeotica ( Karlov, 1932) View in CoL
* [ Cerithium (Pithocerithium) maeoticum nov. sp.] var. lineata nov. var. — Karlov 1932: 72, 79, pl. 1, fig. 18.
Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Karlov (1932: pl. 1, fig. 18), size not given, SL about 15 mm; National Mining University , Dnipropetrovsk ( Ukraine).
Type locality. Kerch peninsula.
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.
Discussion. The name Cerithium lineatum is variously preoccupied ( Lamarck 1822; Tryon 1887). As we consider Cerithium (Pithocerithium) maeoticum lineata Karlov 1932 as a subjective junior synonym of Lampanella maeotica , no replacement name is needed.
Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Crimea: Kerch peninsula.
