Type material. Lectotype designated by Švagrovský 1982: 22, UMJG &P 200.149, SL: 15.9 mm, MD: 6.2 mm, Universalmuseum Joanneum (Graz, Austria), illustrated in Hilber (1879a: pl. 4, figs 2a–c).
Type locality. Gamlitz ( Austria) .
Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Badenian.
Discussion. We treat Cerithium gamlitzense as subjective junior synonym of Theodisca theodisca ( Rolle, 1856) (see Theodisca theodisca for discussion).
