elongata. Cerithium (Pithocerithium) . Karlov, 1932
see Lampanella maeotica ( Karlov, 1932) View in CoL
* Cerithium (Pithocerithium) melaniaeformis nov. sp. var. elongata — Karlov 1932: 75, pl. 1, figs 25–30.
Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Karlov (1932: pl. 1, figs 25–30), SL: c. 11 mm, MD: c. 4 mm; National Mining University , Dnipropetrovsk ( Ukraine).
Type locality. Kerch peninsula.
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.
Discussion. The name Cerithium elongatum is preoccupied by Anton (1838) and G.B. Sowerby II (1855). As we consider Cerithium melaniaeformis elongatum Karlov, 1932 as subjective synonym of Lampanella maeotica ( Karlov, 1932) no replacement name is needed.
Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Crimea: Kerch peninsula (Adzhimushkoi, Enikale, Kapkany, Kousch-Airessi, Mount Mitridat ) .
