Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Kókay (1954: pl. 2, figs 2a–d), Mining and Geological Survey of Hungary (Budapest).

Type locality. Várpalota ( Hungary) .

Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Sarmatian (Volhynian).

Discussion. A morph of Potamides fraterculus with prominent spiral groove below the adapical spiral cord and without spiral groove between the abapical spiral cords resulting in blunt axial ribs.

Central Paratethys. Sarmatian, Volhynian (Middle Miocene): Pannonian Basin: Várpalota ( Hungary) ( Kókay 1954).
