deformatus View in CoL . Potamides . K.A. Ali-Zade, 1940

see Potamides caspius Andrussow, 1902 View in CoL

* Potamides deformatus View in CoL n. sp. —K.A. Ali-Zade 1940: 41, pl. 1, figs 25–27.

Type material. Lectotype designated herein, SL. 14.0 mm, SL: 5.2 mm, Earth Science Museum at Moscow State University ( The Museum of Natural History ).

Type locality. Naftalan ( Azerbaijan) ( Ali-Zade 1969)

Stratigraphy. Late Pliocene/Pleistocene, Akchagylian.

Discussion. The syntypes represent nearly smooth morphs of Potamides caspius Andrussow, 1902 , partly with inflated last whorl, which might point to parasitized specimens. This might also explain the large size of some specimens.

Eastern Paratethys. Akchagylian (Late Pliocene/Pleistocene): Caspian Basin: Eldari Steppe area, Naftalan ( Azerbaijan) ( Ali-Zade 1969).

dionysii . Cerithium . Hilber, 1882

see Tiarapirenella tabulata (Hörnes, 1856)

Cerithium Sturi Hilb.

Type material. The holotype was stored at the Geological Survey, Vienna ( Austria) but seems to have been destroyed during World War II .

Type locality. Gamlitz ( Austria) .

Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Badenian.

Discussion. The name Cerithium sturi was preoccupied by Stoliczka in Stur (1863: 50). Therefore, Hilber (1882: 7) proposed Cerithium dionysii as replacement name.

Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Styrian Basin: Gamlitz ( Austria) ( Hilber 1879a); Pannonian Basin: Várpalota, Herend–Márkó ( Strausz 1966).
