see Potamides disjunctus (J. de C. Sowerby, 1832) View in CoL
* Cerithium disjunctum Sow. var. conica n. var. — Simionescu & Barbu 1940: 79, pl. 1, fig. 13.
Type material. We are not aware of the whereabouts of the type specimens.
Type locality. Valea Pietrei at Fălciu ( Romania) .
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, Sarmatian (Bessarabian).
Discussion. The name Cerithium conicum is preoccupied by Blainville (1829: 158). No replacement name is needed because we consider Cerithium conicum Simionescu & Barbu, 1940 to be a subjective synonym of Potamides disjunctus (J. de C. Sowerby, 1832)
Eastern Paratethys. Sarmatian, Bessarabian (Late Miocene): Moldavian Platform: Nigoteşti, Valea Pietrei at Fălciu ( Romania) ( Simionescu & Barbu 1940); Dacian Basin: Nisipurile ( Romania) ( Ionesi et al. 2005).
