Discussion. Cerithium ampullosum Brongniart, 1823 , is a species based on syntypes from the Oligocene of Castelgomberto ( Italy) and the Burdigalian of Saint-Paul-lès-Dax ( France) (syntype MNHN.F.A82845, stored in the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, Paris, France). So far, this species has not been documented from Paratethyan deposits. Most probably, Pusch (1836) had a small Terebralia at hand.
Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Korytnica Basin: Korytnica ( Poland), Polish-Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin: Brykiv (Ternopil Region), Lisovody, Maliivtsi (Khmel'nytskyi Region, Ukraine) ( Pusch 1836).
