Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Simionescu & Barbu (1940: pl. 1, fig. 49). We are not aware of the whereabouts of the type specimens.

Type locality. Chişinău ( Moldova) .

Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, Sarmatian (Bessarabian).

Discussion. A stout morph of Tiaracerithium pictum .

Eastern Paratethys. Sarmatian, Bessarabian (Late Miocene): Moldavian Platform: Chişinău ( Moldova) ( Simionescu & Barbu 1940).
