bicostata. Cerithium View in CoL . Eichwald, 1851
see Pustulosia submitralis ( Eichwald, 1851)
* [ Cerithium mitrale m.] var. bicostata — Eichwald 1851: 88, pl. 7, fig. 12.
Cerithium bicostatum m— Eichwald 1852: 2, pl. 7, fig. 12.
Cerithium bicostatum m— Eichwald 1853: 158.
Potamides bicostatus Eichwald — Csepreghy-Meznerics 1950: 27, pl. 1, fig. 15.
Type material. We are not aware of the whereabouts of the type specimens.
Type locality. No locality indicated by Eichwald (1851). From the context, the material derives from a locality in the Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin, such as Zalistsi and Zhukivtsi.
Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Sarmatian (Volhynian).
Discussion. The illustrated specimen represents a slender shell with reduced sculpture and weak mid-whorl angulation. It might represent an aberrant morph of Pustulosia submitralis with reduced beads.
Central Paratethys. Sarmatian, Volhynian (Middle Miocene): Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin: no locality indicated by Eichwald (1851).
