Sphecosoma perconstrictum Zerny, 1912b: 121 . Holotype male [by monotypy]: [ BRAZIL], Santa Catarina, 1886 (Funke); with two handwritten labels: “S. Katherin., Funke, 86” and “ Sphecosoma perconstrictum Zerny type ♂”.
Current combination. Pleurosoma perconstrictum (Zerny, 1912) .
Condition of the type. Right fore and hindlegs missing. Tips of both antennae broken.
Remarks. This species was transferred to Pleurosoma Orfila, 1935 by Simmons and Weller (2006).
